Innovation management is about much more than processes and tools. It requires a management system that takes into account a number of internal and external business drivers. These influence a company’s innovation capacity. Each company requires an orchestrator or innovation hub to clarify within this context a company’s innovation mission and scope; required culture and leadership; right structure and interfaces; governance and decision making requirements; requisite skills; learning-driven methodologies, processes and tools; and, appropriate key performance indicators and reward systems.
Innovation is not everyone’s job. It has to be someone’s job to build the innovation roadmap to architect for success and orchestrate all the pieces of the innovation system.
